"The View From Here" is a column that I've been writing for sometime from different locations.
At one time it came from the metropolitan Portland area, then traveled to rural Southern Oregon,
continued down into the Great San Joaquin Valley, meandered out to the industrial Mid-West,
bounced down south through the swamp states, back across the Rocky Mountain time zones in
route westward to Seattle, south again into the hard urban areas of California, and back to
Yachats on the central Oregon coast.
The column has always been a compilation of observations of the various environments, people,
and pulse of the area were it's being generated from.

This open structure allows me to examine a plethora of topics, throw in an occasional book review by local authors, talk about some music and sports, and generally throw the door open to anyone who has a story to tell or something to share with the readers.
"The View From Here" won't change the world but at least it will shed a bit of light on what's
going on around here.
