CAPTAIN COOK TRAIL
Total distance: 1 mile ~ Elevation: 200 feet ~ Walking time: 30 min. ~ Difficulty: Easy

       Named for early explore, Capt. Cook, who named Cape Peretua, it loops along the shoreline and above the tide pools, This paved trail leads to Spouting Horn, Cook's Chasan and Indian shell middems. The tril connects to trails leading to Cape Cove Beach and Devil's Churn.
        As you leave the forest you will cross under Highway 101. The trail to the right leads to Cape Cove Beach and Devil's Churn. Go left to get to the tidepools and Spouting Horn.

        The Cape Perpetua Scenic Area encompasses old Sitka spruce, rocky intertidal regions, clear running streams and Cape Perpetua. This area has been the site of Indian encampments and a Civilian Conservation Corps camp. In 1965 to ensure that this diverse and unique place and its many wonders will remain for future generations.
